About
Hi, I'm Marcin
I photograph people. Mostly in and around Mielec, always with the story a frame should tell in mind.
Next to the portraits, my portfolio also has wildlife and air shows. Long lenses, patience and waiting for the moment teach you a different way of looking at the world. People and portraiture are what matter most to me.
I love sessions built on a concept: Slavic goddesses by the ponds, a cyberpunk netrunner, noir in a November town. I love street portraiture just as much, where I leave part of the decisions to available light, the weather and chance.
I work with a modern mirrorless camera, but I happily reach for Soviet glass that is decades old: the Helios 44M-4, Jupiter-9 or Mir-1. They draw in a way that is hard to find in new lenses. I write about gear and behind-the-scenes on the blog.
You don't need any experience in front of the camera. Many people I have photographed were standing in front of one for the first time. My job is to make it relaxed, and to make the result look like you at your very best ;)
Besides private photography I work in B2B marketing, 3D graphics and corporate photography. You'll find those projects at mzygmunt.com.
A few stories

Studio - Creative Space - Portraits
Where sound takes shape. A glimpse into the world of Kacper "Echology" Żarna – artist and founder of the Fly recording studio in Mielec, who navigates the edges of shadow and light in his creative sanctuary. Together, we created a project: photographic portraits of live electronic music makers, which we entered into the Abbey Road Music Photography Award competition.

Darkness
"November, almost the end of the world."

Punks Not Dead
A Punk/Post Punk band rehearsal captured by my camera. Photos taken in black and white with a Canon 6D Mark I and a Sigma 35mm Art lens.
